De Gunst Transport is a highly successful Queensland Transport Company who specialises in providing a service to the Sugar and Mining Industries has an opportunity for a qualified and experienced Diesel Mechanic to join their Bundaberg Workshop.

The role: 
Reporting to the Workshop Manager, we are seeking a Trade Qualified Diesel Mechanic to be based at our Bundaberg Workshop on a Permanent basis, additional work may be required at other affiliated local branches from time to time.

The types of vehicles the team services include:

• Their transport fleet includes Freightliners, Western Stars, Kenworth and Mercedes Benz along with a fleet of Side Tippers, Multilift, Role on Role off, Dog Trailers, Walking Floors, Bulk Tippers and Tankers.

• Experience with the maintenance of earthmoving equipment including Loaders, Excavators, Dozers, Bobcats and Graders would also be advantageous.

You will be responsible for:

• Diagnosis, repair and maintenance of mechanical, pneumatic, diesel systems, auto electrical, air conditioning and hydraulic repairs.

• Manage and adhere to timelines.

• Complete necessary paperwork with meticulous detail.

• All general servicing tasks.

• Rostered on call breakdown service.

• To maintain quality and urgency in the work performed.

To be considered for these roles, applicants must possess the following skills and experience and meet the following requirements:

• Possess a Certificate III as a Diesel Mechanic or similar.

• Available to work Monday to Friday with rostered on call weekend work.

• 2+ Years in a similar role.

• A current forklift ticket is advantageous.

• Have a current drivers license.
